THE CLIENT: British Airways stands as the United Kingdom’s foremost international airline, proudly operating an extensive network of flights to over 160 destinations across the globe.
PROJECT LOCATIONS: The project centred on the illustrious Galleries First Class Lounges, strategically located in Edinburgh, Cape Town, Miami, Singapore, and Washington D.C. all iconic settings for British Airways’ premium customer experience.
SCOPE OF WORK: The objective was to design and manufacture a three-dimensional representation of the renowned British Airways “Speedmark” logo.
INTRODUCTION IN BRIEF
The client, British Airways, sought the expertise of a specialist design and manufacturing partner capable of delivering an exact three-dimensional replica of their celebrated Speedmark emblem. This striking sign required a flawless wet chrome finish complemented by elegant LED backlighting to enhance its presence within the lounges.
OUR SOLUTION AND OBJECTIVES
Hayward GRP presented a comprehensive, meticulously detailed proposal encompassing technical drawings, CAD models, and photorealistic renderings to confirm the concept’s fidelity.
Following client approval, our team produced a precision master pattern, a production mould, and six prototype signs, each perfected with an impeccable chrome finish. Integrated LED illumination was installed during production, and each sign was supplied with tailored mounting kits to ensure seamless installation at each lounge location.
Every sign underwent rigorous fit and function evaluations, which were conducted in close collaboration with the British Airways’ team to ensure that performance and finish met the highest standards before final approval and shipment.
THE RESULT IN CONCLUSION
The British Airways Galleries Lounges pay homage to the finest in British design, now enhanced by these innovative three-dimensional GRP signs faithfully reproducing the iconic Speedmark. Each sign boasts a flawless wet chrome finish and striking LED backlighting, delivering high-impact branding consistent with British Airways’ reputation for excellence.
