WHAT THEY PROVIDE: Daydream Disco masterfully orchestrates unforgettable events, bringing vibrant energy and an eclectic range of music to festivals, corporate gatherings, brand activations, weddings, and any special occasion in need of an extraordinary soundtrack.
SCOPE OF WORK: To conceive, design, and meticulously craft a Citroën HY-inspired mobile events trailer, seamlessly blending vintage charm with contemporary functionality to serve as a fully equipped DJ booth.
INTRODUCTION IN BRIEF
The client, Daydream Disco, envisioned a mobile DJ booth echoing the timeless aesthetic of the iconic Citroën HY van, yet reimagined as a trailer effortlessly towed to events, enabling swift set-up to ignite the atmosphere without delay. This design demanded an authentic replication of classic features, including the signature windows, headlights, wheels, doors, and flaps, to capture the true spirit of the original vehicle while ensuring modern mobility and practicality.
OUR SOLUTION AND OBJECTIVES
After submitting a comprehensive design and build proposal, Hayward GRP was entrusted with bringing this ambitious concept to life. Our team offered extensive design consultancy, producing detailed technical drawings, CAD models, and photorealistic visuals to demonstrate proof of concept, as well as innovative solutions for the internal fit-out.
Upon receiving client approval, we fabricated precision tooling and created the bespoke Citroën HY body shell, which we then integrated onto a new road trailer chassis. This meticulous process set the foundation for the interior installation, combining craftsmanship and engineering excellence to achieve both aesthetic fidelity and robust performance.
THE RESULT IN CONCLUSION
This project was a joyous endeavour for the Hayward GRP team, as we collaborated closely with Nathan and Sofia Simpson to realise their high-spec mobile DJ booth, affectionately christened ‘Kipling’. Crafted with uncompromising attention to detail in our East Sussex workshop, Kipling stands as a portable sanctuary of rhythm and revelry, fitted with cutting-edge audio systems, dynamic lighting, and an evocative visual identity that elevates the experience of every event.
