THE CLIENT: GPI is based in Lopik, the Netherlands, specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of custom stainless-steel storage and process tanks for clients around the globe.

SCOPE OF WORK: To design, manufacture, and deliver four large 3.5m diameter Round GRP Enclosures.
INTRODUCTION IN BRIEF
GPI sought a UK manufacturer renowned for expertise in engineered GRP solutions, tasked with creating four robust round enclosures equipped with access doors. These enclosures would sit atop their large cylindrical brewery tanks.
The primary objective was to safeguard the tanks’ fittings, pipes, and valves against extreme weather conditions. This required thorough structural calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure the enclosures could endure high wind loads.
OUR SOLUTION AND OBJECTIVES
GPI chose Hayward GRP for the design, development, and delivery of the large 3.5m diameter round enclosures. We presented a comprehensive design and build proposal, including detailed drawings, CAD models, visuals, and animations to provide proof of concept. After obtaining client approval, we created precise master patterns and production tooling to manufacture the enclosures, underpinned by rigorous engineering calculations and FEA.
In addition, we provided a certified lifting solution to position the enclosures 300 feet up for installation. Our commitment to quality was further emphasised with a 10-year structural warranty for complete peace of mind.
THE RESULT IN CONCLUSION
This project was a seamless collaboration between Hayward GRP and the GPI team in the Netherlands, culminating in an expertly engineered GRP solution. The 3.5m Ø GRP enclosures now perch 300 feet up on top of the newly installed brewery tanks, designed to withstand significant wind loading and extreme weather conditions, making them an ideal long-term solution.
