INTRODUCTION IN BRIEF
The client, Eibe Play engaged Hayward GRP to deliver two new themed characters as part of the newly developed Mr Potato’s Playground at Paultons Park. The project brief specified a Mr Potato figure, positioned prominently at the entrance ready for every photo opportunity, and a large ladybird play structure designed for interactive safe play.
The technical requirements focused on structural resilience, surface durability, and material integrity, with an emphasis on producing units capable of withstanding the rigours of frequent public use in an outdoor theme park environment.
OUR SOLUTION AND OBJECTIVES
After successfully being awarded the project, Hayward GRP provided a comprehensive project proposal that included design assistance, visuals, and a defined critical path to ensure a timely delivery.
Upon client approval, our inhouse team created hand sculpted master patterns, production moulds, and the two large GRP Characters which were manufactured to exacting standards.
Both characters incorporated internal and foundation steel work to maximise structural integrity and provide long term durability under continuous public interaction.
