PROJECT LOCATION: Nestled in the heart of Surrey, Wentworth Club is an exclusive, privately owned golf and country club founded in 1922. As the proud home and headquarters of the PGA Championship, it epitomises prestige, heritage, and sporting excellence.
SCOPE OF WORK: To conceive, design, manufacture, and seamlessly install bespoke screen walling to discreetly conceal rooftop plant and services, preserving the club’s timeless architectural elegance.
INTRODUCTION IN BRIEF
The client: Reignwood Group sought a lightweight yet exceptionally durable castellated screen walling solution crowned with simulated stone capping’s. The new installation needed to match precisely the original façade in colour, texture, and surface appearance. Moreover, the walling had to withstand all weather conditions for at least twenty-five years, while a demanding schedule necessitated meticulous execution to ensure completion in time for the PGA Championship.
OUR SOLUTION AND OBJECTIVES
Hayward GRP undertook a comprehensive aerial drone survey, delivering a detailed, bespoke proposal covering every aspect, from innovative design and precision manufacturing to professional installation and full project oversight.
Given the stringent weight restrictions, our GRP screen walling panels were crafted with a 30mm Armacell foam core sandwiched between layers of GRP. This cutting-edge composition produced panels of remarkable strength and minimal weight, ensuring effortless handling and robust longevity. Every element of the construction and fixing solution was rigorously engineered, with structural calculations certified by an independent engineer, providing absolute peace of mind for the client.
THE RESULT IN CONCLUSION
The newly installed GRP castellated screen walling and elegantly finished stone capping’s blended seamlessly with Wentworth Club’s original architecture, appearing as though they had always been part of its distinguished design.
