Quality Fibreglass Structures for Boats and Bespoke GRP Moulds to specification
Fibreglass, also know as GRP is the ideal material for use in the Marine (Boating, Yachts, Submersible) sector across a whole range of applications. It has a proven track record for being lightweight, durable, extremely strong and resistant to all forms of water, weather, and chemical ingress.
Hayward Grp has a proven track record, offering decades of experience as specialists in all aspects of GRP design and production, able to take projects from concept to development, installation and, in the case of the Marine sector, launch.
One such example of our work is the SASS (Survey Autonomous Semi-Submersible) vehicle that we developed with unmanned marine vehicle specialists ASV Ltd. The aim was to produce a shallow water hydrographic survey platform that was both rugged and reliable, but that could also demonstrate itself to be adaptable for military use. Build quality and weight, endurance and design were all of paramount importance and we delivered on all counts.
Other examples of marine applications of GRP include, but are certainly not restricted to:
- Hulls and decks
- Superstructures and wheelhouses
- Structural components
- Doors and hatches
- Battery boxes and enclosures
- Ray domes
- ROV and submersible components
There are few other materials that offer the strength to weight ratio of GRP, as it is infinitely adaptable. It can be moulded into any shape desired and finished in any colour. Also, the material is resistant to rot, rust and deterioration and thanks to it being UV stabilised it will keep its lustre for many years to come.
At Hayward Grp we are equipped to take on anything from a bespoke one-off commission to volume production quantities. Therefore, to discuss any aspect of your project needs please do feel free in contacting us on 01323 679555 today.
